The Best Domain Reseller Program: How to Choose

Reviewed by Margaret James

Becoming a part of a white-label reseller program is a great way to create extra income on the side. Domain resellers can quickly and easily start and scale a business with little capital, unlike most entrepreneurs who must take the time to build a company from the ground up. Resellers don’t have to create the goods and services they sell.

Many providers of domain name registrations and web hosting are resellers. NameCheap is a leader in the domain name industry with more than 10 million domains under management. The company is a part of a reseller program offered by Enom, the world’s second-largest domain registrar. NameCheap resells Enom’s services under its own brand.

GoDaddy is another leading domain registrar. It also allows other individuals and businesses to white-label and sell their services such as email, hosting, and SSL certificates.

Key Takeaways

  • Joining a reseller program is a way to create extra money on the side with very low startup costs.
  • The major domain name registrars have similar product offerings for their resellers but different intrinsic features and price points.
  • Major domain name registrars offer customer support and brand customization to their resellers.
  • GoDaddy and Enom both offer reseller packages that allow individuals and businesses to sell their products under a white-labeled brand.

The Best Domain Reseller Programs

You have endless opportunities to open a business even if you don’t have major capital. One way is by becoming a reseller for a particular product or service. GoDaddy and Enom are the largest providers in the domain name industry. Both companies offer reseller packages that allow individuals and businesses to sell their products under a white-labeled brand.

Overview of GoDaddy and Enom

GoDaddy is the largest domain registrar in the world with almost 6,159 employees at the close of 2023 and more than 82 million domains under management. The company was founded in 1997 by Bob Parsons and is still headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

GoDaddy had its initial public offering (IPO) in early 2014. It valued the company at $4.5 billion. The company reported $1.38 billion in gross revenue and a net loss of $143.31 million at the end of that same year. GoDaddy’s market capitalization was more than $28.20 billion as of January 2025.

Enom’s history dates back to 1997. The company was based in Kirkland, Washington and focused on operating as a wholesale business. Enom became a subsidiary of the Rightside Group, a publicly traded domain name conglomerate, in 2013. It was then sold to Tucows in January 2017 for $83.5 million.

Startup Costs

You must choose between two packages to become a reseller for GoDaddy. The Basic Reseller package costs $8.99 a month as of 2025 and it’s recommended for account owners who intend to have no more than 25 customers. The Pro Reseller package goes for $14.99 a month.

The main difference between the two packages is the pricing that account owners receive. Resellers on the basic plan receive up to 20% off GoDaddy’s retail pricing. Subscribers of the Pro plan get as much as 40% off. The price of being a reseller is quoted at a monthly rate but the minimum contract a GoDaddy reseller can buy is for one year.

Becoming an Enom reseller requires a $50 one-time enrollment fee. Four plans have been offered since April 2024 based on new domain registration volume, annual domain spending, and your top-level domain. The plans are Essential, Advanced, Premium, and Enterprise. Ongoing costs for your plan will range from $3 to $165.

Enom also offers an extra service to its resellers called the Instant Reseller. It gives them a ready-made online storefront so they can begin selling in minutes. This service comes with an additional cost of $99 per year. Both of GoDaddy’s reseller packages come with a white-label storefront and there’s no additional cost for this service with them.

Product Offerings

GoDaddy and Enom do a good job providing their resellers with a wide range of products and services to sell. These include SEO and marketing services, web hosting, and SSL certificates. Both companies allow their resellers to choose what they would like to sell on their storefront.

Important

Enom requires that their Instant Resellers offer the same domain name extensions they sell. GoDaddy gives their resellers an option to select which extension they’d like to offer.

Sub-Account Sales and Support

GoDaddy’s reseller packages come with 24/7 phone support for resellers and their sub-accounts. This is perfect for those who may not have the time or technical knowledge to deal with customer service issues. GoDaddy will provide white-labeled customer support so the customers of resellers won’t know that GoDaddy is providing the support when they call the support line.

Enom provides 24/7 phone support as well but it’s only available to resellers. They must directly provide support to their customers. This can be a good thing in some cases because some resellers may prefer to build a relationship with their sub-accounts.

Brand Customization

Both GoDaddy and Enom provide their resellers with a range of storefront templates to choose from. Resellers can customize the look and feel of their storefront by doing things like changing the colors and adding a logo.

eNom account owners who don’t use the Instant Reseller can build a storefront from scratch and connect it with Enom’s application program interface (API). GoDaddy also allows this option but it requires that API resellers pay a yearly fee of $150.

How Does Domain Reselling Work?

Domain reselling involves purchasing a domain name or internet address, marking up its price, and then reselling it. Some names are valuable and highly sought-after so reselling can be a lucrative side gig.

How Many Resellers Does Enom have?

Enom reports that it has more than 22,000 resellers as of 2025. It has more than 6.5 million registered domains.

How Much Does It Cost to Invest in GoDaddy?

A GoDaddy share was selling for $204.73 as of Jan. 21, 2024. This was up almost $4 from the day’s opening. The price represents an all-time high.

The Bottom Line

Reselling domain names can bring in some side cash and your startup costs will most likely be minimal. The process involves purchasing an internet address and then “flipping” or selling it for a profit and there are services available to help you do it. This is where the costs come in but you should receive solid support and assistance in exchange. GoDaddy and Enom are the two primary reseller programs available in 2025.

Research the process before you jump in if you’re new to the game.
